Hi, I'm Eric (though you can just call me dcb)! I stumbled upon this site around a year or two ago searching for stuff about Microsoft V-Chat, and since then have lurked the libraries a little bit, but only made an account now (February 2024). Figuring out how stuff works around here, and maybe if I should stick around?
My latest blog post is about MyGameBuilder, which was a game creation community that ran from 2007 with active updates until 2013. It was powered by Adobe Flash, a Rails backend, and Amazon S3 storage. I'm horribly sentimental about it (as I am with a lot of things) so go read that post! I'd finish figuring out how it worked and mayyybe write an actual server for it but I hit some snags trying to get it to work with my own S3-compatible server and I'm also in uni which sorta throws a wrench into a lot of my pet projects for the time being.....
