Honestly, Worlio looks nothing like any other site I've ever seen. It's kinda odd looking actually, but that's not a bad thing.
Oh yeah it's definitely its own thing, drawing from a variety of places. Not enough garish formatting, hit counters, or spinning flame gifs to be taken for a true oldie, but that's for the best. I always liked the style and feel of smaller forums over modern social media sites, though maintaining an large enough userbase these days to stay active can be a challenge.
More that I've never seen an actual retro site with popover animations and pixelated text. It's funny that it's all like "oh, this is dedicated to the old Internet!", and yet it's a very 2024 take on a forum. Again, not a bad thing--the only issue is how dead Worlio tends to be. I check it every day or three though.
