It's here! We are now into another year and this one is an exciting one for both us and our members. I have a lot of plans and developments being made that we can't wait to share. Let's talk about what our Worlio will be up to in 2023.
Worlio Chat
One of our biggest projects! We've been working on a web-chat server for quite some time, and we've got so many nifty things we're sure you'll love.
Not only will this be a place where you can chat with other Worlio users, but also watch along with them and draw together. Users will be able to create their own temporary rooms with other users to partake in activities such as watch-alongs or art collaborations. The best part is that it's all in your browser!
Creations
Our replacement for the User Library that is much over-due. We closed down the User Library quite a while ago to work on migrating and designing a new and improved system. The User Library had many flaws and issues, and was a rushed feature. It needed to be remade.
Creations will be a big step up, focusing on improving the user experience that made the Library so much of a flop. Creation pages will be able to showcase a gallery of images and videos instead of just a tiny thumbnail, tags will get some much needed attention, and users can submit pages with credits to various other artists. It'll become a database of creativity and art.
Token Updates
Finally, more uses for tokens! A currency we implemented long ago, but only just now getting to their uses.
We really wanted tokens to be obtainable by anybody and used for anything. The biggest token update is the Token Shop, which will display a number of customization options to buy using tokens. From things like nametag fonts, forum backgrounds, emojis, and so much more. The best part is that it'll also be user-contributed.
You'll also be able to 'tip' creations and forum posts. Users you tip the content of will get a token for each tip with knowledge on what for, and the amount of tips will be publicly displayed. Tip proudly!
There is so much more we are working on. Some minor changes there, some little tid-bits there, some quality-of-life modifications made here. I intend to hopefully release this update by the end of March. May we celebrate for another year of Worlio! Keep worming!
