Newsgroups are Coming !!

Online user-to-user discussion on Worlds and Worlds products will be moving to newsgroups on Wednesday, November 20. As of that date this and the other discussion forums will no longer be accessible from the Worlds website.

Discussion topics for the newsgroups will initially be split the same as it is today, with one technical support newsgroup each for Worlds Chat, Active Worlds Users (for users of the Browser), and Active Worlds Worldbuilders (for users of the Development Kit). There will also be a Worlds Feedback Newsgroup for general discussion about Worlds and for product suggestions. We will monitor the information exchange and will add other newsgroups as necessary to more effectively segment the discussion. Feel free to post your suggestions to the Feedback newsgroup!

Why are we making this change? If you’ve used newsgroups before, you probably aren’t asking this question! For the rest of you: You will find it much easier to navigate through message posts and to manage your participation in discussions on newsgroups than it is using the tools in the current forums.

The newsgroups are being set up according to the same structure that is in place today for the technical forums -- you will be able to directly access the newsgroups from links in the technical support section of the Worlds website.

Thank you for helping make the forums -- and soon the newsgroups -- such an effective medium for communication among Worlds users.

Hey Worlds Tech:

Are you going to let us know the name of the Newsgroup (s)?
