i noticed when first trying this program its looking
for tcpman.exe. I, however, do not use winsock to
connect to the internet. I use the dialup that comes
with NT. Is there a way i can still try this without
having to use winsock?

Oh no no no no no!! WINSOCK.DLL is a library file that directs your computer accross the 'net. So, you need to have a winsock file just to connect to the net! The dial-up connection that come with NT has it's own built in. Apparently, there may be more than one copy of winsock.dll on your system. Possibly from a previous attempt to install a dial-up software, or from a service. They creep out from everywhere. What is needed is for you to figure out which one your Windows Dial-up connection uses, and erase the others.

To use the internet without winsock, is like driving a car without a steering wheel! *grin* One sad thing is every file is different, and special to the parrent software that it came from. So they are not interchangable.

One method I use to figure out which winsock is the one being used, is to search for all of them on the system. Rename everyone to a new extension. I.E. Winsock.001, Winsock.002... Then take one and name it back to winsock.dll. Then try to connect. If no go. Put it back as .001, then try the second... You get the idea. Unitl you connect, then I leave the files or just plain delete them.

Good luck!
